"Coming from two parents who were both world class athletes, it's easy to guess what I did with my life. I started competing in synchronized swimming when I was eight years old. At eleven I moved out to California where the best team in the nation trains. I became a Santa Clara Aquamaid! At age twelve, I won my first national title.

For the following ten years my career took off like a rocket. I won at least one national title per season, and at the age of fifteen I represented the US in my first international competition and came out on top.

The next year I was named to the United States National Team and voted team captain. I was a member for six years and went to many international competitions including twice to the world championships.

Competition has been my life.

Traveling all over the world and competing with many young women and meeting athletes of different nationalities inspired me to create this contest. Our world has changed, and the political climate has brought nations farther away from each other. I believe that through competition, whether it in sports or entertainment, we can bring the world back together again.

Competition is a great way for individuals to express themselves, and it is a wonderful way to make friends. And what better way to compete than via the worldwide web! The internet has single handedly broken down world boundaries, making communication between individuals easier.

To honor the internet and the millions of men and women who use it daily, I am presenting a challenge to Teenagers between the ages of 13 and 17 to compete for the title of the first ever Miss Teen and Mister Teen Internet 2008 contest.

Ladies and gentlemen, the world is now your stage, as well as your judge. Browse through the pages of this site to find out how you can compete. It's going to be fun, and it will be rewarding to the lucky winners. Win a $5000 College Fund award and have your adventure filmed for a chance at your own reality show!"
